The Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) and the Fight for $15 and Fairness are co-hosting online decent work organizing meetings every month.
Thanks to your incredible effort, there is growing momentum for safe and healthy workplaces for all. From paid sick days to migrant justice, and from decent wages to safe schools, your actions are making a difference!
On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., please join the OFL and the Fight for $15 and Fairness for another online organizing meeting. We will assess our work so far and plan next steps to mobilize for the month ahead. The protections we win today will lay the foundation for a decent work future for everyone.
Sign up to register for the meeting and receive the link to the online meeting.
We use these meetings to organize for:
- Safe and healthy workplaces (Status for all workers; Employer-paid PPE; Social distancing at work and in all staff quarters; Employer-paid sick leave; Right to refuse unsafe work)
- Employer-paid sick days for all (At least 7 paid sick days permanently, and an additional 14 days during health outbreaks)
- Decent income for all (Extend CERB; Fix EI; Make pandemic pay permanent; Raise the minimum wage)
- Strong communities (Food security; Affordable housing; Accessible public transit; Solidarity)
Building POWER in our COMMUNITIES
Activist Training Series - Session #4 – January 27, 2021, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Join the Ontario Federation of Labour and CUPE Ontario for our fourth installment of the “Building Power in Our Communities” online training sessions on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom.
In this activist training series, the collective strength of the Power of Many and Communities Not Cuts campaign come into collaboration on a province-wide initiative to bring the people of Ontario together to fight for decent work, public services, equality, justice, and safe and healthy communities for all.
Come to the session on Wednesday, January 27 at 7:00 p.m. for a chance to win a COVID Activist Kit prize package.
Our January 27th session will included briefings about the OFL and CUPE resolutions regrading defunding the police, a presentation about what the call to defund the police means and how to implement it in communities, and discussions about tactics and proposals for putting motions forward to city councils to redistribute police funds in city budgets to essential social services that are often underfunded such as housing, education, mental health care, employment and youth services.
Please join us for this important discussion about defunding the police and exploring the work that needs to be done on Anti-Black and Anti-Indigenous Racism.
Together, workers, their families, and our communities are coming together to fight back against the Ford Conservative government’s agenda and demand that the government provide the strong public services Ontario families need.
OFL and CUPE are united in our efforts to protect jobs, protect our communities and protect the vital public services our members, our friends and families rely on every single day.
